TRAIL SIDE REPAIR 

- This is a Free Workshop -

Ever find yourself with a busted bike on the side of the trail or road unsure how, or if, you can continue the ride? Join us for a trial-run of our new Trail Side Repair class! We'll review what to take on a ride to get out of tight spots, how to assess your bike after a crash, and how to do common trailside repairs so you get back to your ride (or at least get home). Knowledge of how to fix-a-flat and basic bike anatomy assumed for this class.

Fix'n Up Kids Bikes

We need your help!!! We have to fix up 350+ kids' bikes in a 5-week period!  Washing, tube patching, part swapping, etc! Select a 2.5 hours block that works for you in the drop-down menu above and make this a merry holiday for some kid from Boulder County

Learn the correct procedures to set up and adjust the suspension of your mountain Bike. This workshop will cover:

A clinic that teaches the best, easiest technique for fixing a flat? Come to this workshop to learn to fix a flat like a pro.    During the clinic you will receive a new patch kit and a new set of tire levers.  The fee for this clinic is $10.00, NONREFUNDABLE.  If you decide not to attend and do not move to another clinic your fee will be used as a donation to one of our community outreach programs.

Walk & Bike to Work Day - Fix-a-Flat

Maintenance 101

Learn the basics of bicycle repair in this workshop. Bicycle anatomy, lubricants, tool use and basic maintenance will be covered. Learn how to do basic brake and shifting adjustments as well.  The fee for this clinic is $20.00, NONREFUNDABLE.  If you decide not to attend and do not move to another clinic your fee will be used as a donation to one of our community outreach programs

Walk and Bike Month Maintenance 101

Learn the basics of bicycle repair in this workshop. Bicycle anatomy, lubricants, tool use and basic maintenance will be covered. Learn how to do basic brake and shifting adjustments as well. This is a free workshop offered for Walk&Bike month


Wheels 101

Even new wheels need servicing. Learn the basics of truing wheels and the basics of overhauling the hubs in this two-hour workshop.

Everyone Deserves a Bike Fitting!

 

Athletes who ride hundreds of miles a week need to spend hundreds of dollars for a micro-tech fitting. If you're a typical around-town or recreational rider, come see industry veteran and long-time CC volunteer Ray Keener for a look at your position and pedaling style. And a few tweaks in the right direction! Every Saturday from 11 AM to noon, outdoors and safely distanced.

Register for this FREE workshop and learn the essentials of of commuting by bicycle in the winter.  This workshop will teach you how to ride, what to carry, everything you need to know for a safe and warm winter bike commute.  Feel free to bring your bike. 

Disc Brakes 101

Introduction to disc brake systems, Hydraulic vs Mechanical, Pad compounds & shapes.Bleeding principles... bring your own bike to learn adjustments you can make.  This workshop requires a $20.00 program fee.   Registration required.


Commuting By Bike

Come to this FREE workshop and learn the essentials of of commuting by bicycle. Learn where to ride, bike safety, what to carry, and some basic maintenance as well! This workshop is taught by Elaine C. Erb, LCI/Sustainable Transportation Planner, BTC/Boulder Chamber.

Bicycle Touring

This is a meeting of like minded individuals... Getting ready to travel by bicycle? Have most of your kit ready? Bring your bikechat with others that have the same interests, bounce ideas of one another, Route selection, what NOT to carry, how much you can eat (a lot!), and other tips and tricks to ensure a fantastic two-wheeled trip anywhere. Discover just how far your bike will take you.

Wheel Building

Learn how to build wheels in this two-part workshop. This workshop covers the following: 

  • Spoke length calculation
  • Lacing
  • Tensioning
  • Dishing
  • Truing

Participants will build a wheel for the shop and are encouraged to follow up this course by building shop wheels or their own wheels in our community workspace during open hours. Class size limited to 5. This workshop requires a $20.00 program fee.  Registration is required

GEM Night

GEM stands for GENDER EQUALITY MECHANIC. GEM night is open to individuals who identify as ciswomen, trans individuals, non-binary individuals, agender individuals, and members of other marginalized gender groups.

During this open shop time, participants will have the opportunity to use the workshop at Community Cycles to work on their own bikes or volunteer to work on one of the shop’s projects with the support of similar identifying staff and volunteers. Come hang out with us in this supportive, cooperative learning environment.

This workshop runs the last Monday of each month from 6:30pm to 8:30pm

WTF Workshop 1

WTF (Women Trans* Femme) is open to individuals who identify as women, trans*, femme, genderqueer, and gender nonconforming. WTF Workshop 1 covers riding basics including what to carry, rules of the road, commuting tips and safety, as well as terms and bike anatomy with plenty of room for questions. In the hands on portion, students will learn how to fix a flat.

WTF (Women Trans* Femme) is open to individuals who identify as women, trans*, femme, genderqueer, and gender nonconforming.WTF Workshop 2 covers a routine maintenance checklist and ABC quick-check with plenty of room for questions. In the hands-on portion, students will learn to adjust brakes and shifting.

Commuting for Women

Commuting for Women is open to individuals who identify as women, trans*, femme, genderqueer, and gender nonconforming. Taught by women, this workshop offers advice on how to start commuting by bicycle with plenty of room for questions. It covers a routine maintenance checklist and ABC quick-check, clothing and route choices, and options for carrying laptops and similar workday gear.
